Welcome to the blog for German 102!
In order to be able to post here, you must send me an email with your blogging e-mail address, and I will sign you up.
In addition to your blog entries for class, feel free to post other fun stuff related to German. It depends on you how much interesting this blog will turn out to be. Furthermore, you can also comment on somebody else's entry instead of posting your own - if your answer is still connected to whichever topic is assigned.
You will all be invited to the blog and you can familiarize yourself with it - as you notice, everything is in German, but since most of you are familiar with blogs, it will be easy to find your way around.
Let me know if there are any problems; once you're invited and figured out how to log in, it should be a piece of cake (Schwarzwälderkirschtorte, natürlich!).

A note about typing special characters:
For the ß and all the umlaut characters, you have two options. First, you can type the assignment out in Word and use the Word shortcuts for the Umlaute and ß.
ß - Ctrl+Shift+& then click s
ä, ö, ü - Ctrl+Shift+: then click the letter to which you want to add the umlaut
You can also make your own shortcuts, which will come in handy once you have to write longer essays.
From there on, copy and paste the text into the text box for the blog.
Temporarily, the other option is to type two "s" for the ß.
For the Umlaute, type the following characters:
ä - ae
ö - oe
ü - ue
